Multi-day Tramping Food

The basis for this chapter is to explore the range of interesting meals available using dried or dehydrated food ingredients and to provide you with a selection of recipes that will fill your multi day tramping experience with tasty and satisfying food options.

Tramping food does not have to be boring, nor does it have to be difficult to prepare. Often it is more about advance planning and good preparation. In this chapter we have selected a range of quality meals that have all been well researched and developed in field conditions and will hopefully change the way you look at multi day tramping food in general.

Most of the recipes are based upon dried or light weight ingredients and contain many of the food items we have discussed in the introduction chapter on dehydrated foods. While other recipes explore the use of some fresh ingredients that we believe make a useful addition to the variety and quality of meal on longer wilderness adventures.
